Shop FAQs
why can't I buy directly from your site?
Selling online is a new venture for me and as I work out the kinks of running an online business, I want to be able to offer my services for custom crochet orders. The plan in the future is to create a full fledged ecommerce site where I can sell the stock I have on hand (and potentially items like prints and stickers too!) but for now this feels like a comfortable starting point.
Saying that, if you have seen anything I sell at my markets or from my instagram, shoot me an email at chaoskai.design@gmail.com and I might have it in stock :)
ok, what the heck is a rope bunny?
In the world of BDSM, A rope bunny refers to someone who finds pleasure being tied up with rope and surrendering control to their play partner, the Rigger. The experience is not just about being restrained, its a vulnerable exchange of power where both participants are actively engaged, and doesn't necessarily involve sex.
If this is something you are curious about and want to learn more, I would recommend researching and finding classes in your local area (looking into Shibari is a good place to start, as its a form of Japanese bondage and a style that many people use today). Rope is fun however is one of the more dangerous kinks and exercising caution is recommended.
can I just buy the pattern from you?
The bunny pattern I use for the standing bunny is from @kosinsqa.handmade and can be found on their instagram. As for my sitting bunny, that is my own design, and will potentially be released as a pattern eventually (watch this space!).
Shipping
how long will it take for my order to arrive?
Currently, everything is made to order and will take 4-6 weeks to be fulfilled and shipped. After it's been shipped, please give the package 1-2 weeks to arrive for domestic orders, and 4-8 weeks for international orders.
Should you need your product sooner, let me know and I will do my best to facilitate your request, however bear in mind there might be an added fee.
how much is shipping?
I offer free local pickup for items within Brisbane- I am located in Everton Park, QLD. When filling out the form, select "free local pickup". Once your order if fulfilled, I will reach out via email to coordinate a pickup time (please check your junk mail!)
Australia wide: Shipping is $12. Express shipping is available for additional cost.
International: Shipping is a flat rate of $30. Please note there are some international countries that I cannot ship to, so please check AusPost Disruption Updates before placing your order to avoid disappointment.
If your package is stolen or lost by the postal service, it is your responsibility as a customer to file a claim with AusPost. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a replacement or refund as these incidents are beyond my control and financial means. Thank you for understanding.
why don't you offer free shipping?
In an effort to be transparent, I prefer to keep my shipping costs separate to my products rather than inflating the price of my items. I do not make any money from the shipping costs, and these costs reflect the current cost of shipping with AusPost.
do I have to pay international custom fees?
International packages often clear customs no problem, but please understand you are responsible for paying any custom fees, taxes or duties once the package reaches your country.
Please keep an eye on the tracking for your order and be ready to pay customs or duties if you are an international buyer.
how will my orders be packaged?
I aim to reuse packaging from parcels I have previously received, or from stores like Reverse Garbage to reduce waste. These packages are recyclable (I am just a box hoarder!)
refunds/ exchanges/ cancellations
Due to the time consuming nature of crochet, I do not offer any refunds, exchanges or cancellations. Please be mindful when placing an order :)
If you have any issues with your order, please reach out via email and I will do my best to help you.
Product Care
what materials do you use for your crochet pieces?
In an effort to reduce consumption of materials, I try to use secondhand yarn sourced from reclamation stores and thrift shops as much as I can. The yarn I use is generally 100% acrylic unless otherwise specified (ie, The rope on the rope bunnies is 100% Cotton).
To ensure highest quality of items, I wash the completed crochet items I make in a gentle machine wash with a zero fragrance soap to ensure they are in tip top shape before shipping them out.
I also like to remain transparent about what items I do source new on my products. I will try to source recycled polyester for filling, however I do buy safety eyes and hardware for bags new.
how do I care for my new crochet piece?
Crochet pieces can be machine washed in a gentle, cold wash using a delicates bag. Lay flat to dry in a well ventilated area. Do not tumble dry.
safety information
Some of my creations contain small parts (safety eyes) that may pose a choking hazard. It is not intended for pets or children under the age of 3. Although safety eyes are generally fastened on really well, please exercise caution.
